TESDA LU AWARDS 150 SCHOLARSHIP VOUCHERS IN KALAYAAN 2009

TESDA La Union awarded 150 new scholarship vouchers to be used by scholars from the different Technical Vocational Institutions in La Union.

TESDA Region 1 Director Washington Agustin turned over the vouchers to Engr. Antonio R. Alvarado Jr., President of the Association of Technical Vocational Institutions in La Union and Jennefer Andres, representative of the 150 new scholars.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and former AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. graced the Independence Day celebration dubbed Kalayaan 2009 at the San Fernando City Hall.

The second leg of the celebration, held at the CSI The City Mall, featured Pangulong Gloria Scholarship (PGS) scholars from Sea and Sky College demonstrating their baking, pastry production, table skirting, and bartending skills. Meanwhile, staff and graduates of the Corazon Ortega Skills and Training Center for Women (COSTCW) demonstrated head massage to clients. TESDA employees also discussed the PGS scholarships to clients at the same activity.
