Young, technically skilled individuals from the 4 provinces of Region 1 became hopefuls for a chance to represent the country in the ASEAN Skills Competition as they received Gold Medals in the 14th Regional Skills Competition held in the Pangasinan Capital Town of Lingayen on November 17-18, 2011.

TESDA Region I 2010 Accomplishments
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 1 Office once again proves itself dedicated to its mission of “providing direction, policies, programs, and standards towards quality technical education and skills development” with its outstanding accomplishments for the year 2010.
Though the year had been heaving with challenges brought about by changes in national leadership and with the continuous demand for sacrifices and considerable adjustments particularly from institutions committed to public service, figures show how well TESDA Region 1 coped and surpassed expected performance.

TESDA sweeps productivity awards anew
TESDA Region I raved-up after winning once again the “Most Advanced Agency in its Productivity and Quality Journey” and the “Best Prepared Citizen’s Charter.”
The Regional Productivity Committee of the Regional Development Council in the Ilocos-Pangasinan Region recognized the productivity and quality efforts of TESDA Region I during the Awarding and Closing Ceremony of the National Quality and Productivity Improvement Month held on October 29, 2010.

TESDA I lauds Idol ng Bayan, Kabalikat awardee
To mark its 16th anniversary, TESDA I accorded the 2010 Kabalikat Award to Punta Riviera Resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan in recognition for its strong commitment and outstanding contribution to technical education and skills development in a cluster of municipalities in Western Pangasinan, and conferred Mr. Jalel Moises B. Maximo as the region’s “Idol ng Bayan.”

A TVET Forum which seeks to convene the different TVET stakeholders in the province of Ilocos Norte will be spearheaded by TESDA Region I on April 22-23, 2010 at the Java Hotel in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

TESDA GRANTS TRAININGS TO AREAS HIT BY THE DRY SPELL
One thousand three hundred seventy-five (1,375) rural youth from El Niño-stricken areas in Region I are beneficiaries of community-based training programs by TESDA.
