Message from the Regional Director
SIPUPUDNO NGA AGSERBI!

WELCOME TO TESDA REGION 1.

Our TESDA Region 1 website is an attempt to touch
base with our numerous and varied stakeholders, customers and beneficiaries. It
isour link to them for a better service delivery.

The various information contained herein will,
hopefully, give inputs to sound decision making on policy formation, technical
education and training investments, skills development planning as well as
guides in the management of skills development programs.

We shall be constantly updating the website for we
believe that this technical facility should be relevant and responsive. We
believe that it would be useless if it is laded with stale and inutile
information.

Our challenge therefore is to have this website
useful to everybody who has the yen to learn.

Thank you.

FEATURES...

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 1
Office once again proves itself dedicated to its mission of “providing
direction, policies, programs, and standards towards quality technical
education and skills development” with its outstanding accomplishments for
the year 2010.
Though the year had been heaving with challenges brought about by changes
in national leadership and with the continuous demand for sacrifices
and considerable adjustments particularly from institutions
committed to public service, figures show how well TESDA Region 1 coped and
surpassed expected performance.

Massive Training
TESDA’s primary mandate is to ensure the provision of high quality, accessible,
and equitable Tek-Bok programs. Trainings are delivered through
center/school-based, enterprise-based, and community-based modalities.
TESDA Region I enrolled a total of 67, 454 trainees or 140.53% of enrolment
target and graduated 62, 558 trainees, exceeding 37% of the total target of
45,608 graduates.

Program Registration
As of December 31, 2010, TESDA Region I has a total of 1441 registered
programs distributed in 257 tech-voc providers region-wide. Of the total
registered programs, 1390 or 96% are WTR programs while only 51 are NTR
programs.

During the year, Certificates of Program Registration (CoPR) were awarded
to 62 programs, 5 of which were migrated from NTR to WTR and from WTR to
newly promulgated WTR.

Assessment and Certification

For CY 2010, the region accomplished a total of 36, 888 assessed individuals
or 121.69% of the total target. Of the assessed, 31, 336 were certified posting
a certification rate of 84.95%, which is 4.95% higher than the 80% certification
target. The renewal of 30 competency assessment centers were facilitated during
the year totaling

to an accumulated 63 accredited competency assessment centers for Region I. A
total of 147 competency assessors were also re-accredited resulting to a total
of 517 newly-accredited and re-accredited competency assessors regionwide as of
December 31, 2010.

Scholarships
TESDA Region I implemented the Training-for-Work Scholarship Program
(TWSP), Special Commitments to TESDA Partners, Cong. Ronald Singson I-CARE
scholarship, Language Skills Institute and PESFA 2010 slots totaling to 15,
998 slots. The TWSP slots were all awarded to beneficiaries as of December

and the Singson/PDAF are continuously implemented until the onset of 2011.
The LSI slots were implemented by the Regional Training Center in San Fernando
City.

Employment

ensures that its graduates find the job that matches the training they had.
Region 1 was able to record 17,836 TVET graduates who have found
employment. The number consists of graduates who are either wage- or
